Ibom Metropolitan Polytechnic, a privately owned institution in Akwa Ibom State, has dismissed claims of issuing false admission letters for a Medical Laboratory Science programme.
In a statement issued on Monday, December 16, 2024 in Uyo, the Acting Rector, Mr. Samuel Etim, clarified that the polytechnic does not offer a degree programme in Medical Laboratory Science, nor does it have a department for the course.
The clarification comes in response to a report published by the Association of University Academic Medical Laboratory Scientists in the Nigerian Tribune on December 13, 2024. The publication, titled “Illegal Mounting of Medical Lab Science Degree Programme,” alleged that Ibom Polytechnic issued admission letters to candidates for the course.
