UNILAG HOSTS NUC ACCREDITATION TEAMS FOR EDUCATION PROGRAMMES

Various teams from the National Universities Commission (NUC) arrived the University of Lagos on Thursday, November 21, 2024, for the accreditation of its Science Education, Arts Education, IRS/CRS, and Economics Education programmes.

The accreditation teams were led to the Senate House (Senate Chamber) by the Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof. Simeon Adebayo Oladipo and were warmly received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Prof. Ayodele Atsenuwa, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Lucian Chukwu, and the Director of the Academic Planning Unit, Prof. Olusoji Ilori.

In her welcome remarks, Prof. Atsenuwa emphasized the University’s commitment to ensuring a seamless and successful accreditation process.

She passionately reiterated the institution’s dedication to enhancing the quality of its academic offerings and preparing graduates who are well-equipped to thrive in a rapidly changing global job market.

Speaking on behalf of the NUC team of assessors, Prof. Monday C. Onukawa from the Abia State University assured the university leadership to fully carry out its mandate without bias.

His words “Our mission is not to find faults but to gather facts and provide advice where necessary, aimed at improving these programmes”.

He also thanked the University for the warm reception.
