Newgate University, Minna, hosted an Accreditation Team from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The team, led by Professor Cosmos Eze from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, included Professor Anthony Igyuve from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and Mr. Mansur Umar Buza. Their visit was for the accreditation process of the B.Sc. Mass Communication.

This team was the first of ten expected to visit the university for accreditation purposes. During their stay, the team toured the university premises, including the library, council chambers, mass communication studio, and administrative offices.

In his remarks, Professor Eze, a mass communication expert from ABU Zaria, emphasized the purpose of their visit as a peer review mechanism designed to enhance the university's academic standards through observations, commendations, and recommendations.

He described the process as essential for aligning the institution with the best academic practices.

Newgate University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sadiq Yusuf, warmly welcomed the NUC team, acknowledging their visit as long-anticipated.

In his closing remarks, the Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to the NUC team for their thorough and professional assessment. He praised their practical approach to the accreditation process, recognizing the significance of their feedback in shaping the university's future.

They also reviewed files, interacted with academic and administrative officers, and engaged with students.
