The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL), has confirmed an increase in the acceptance fee for newly admitted students for the 2023/2024 academic session. According to SUG Executive President, Comrade Mohammed Mohammed Ganako, the revised fees now stand at ₦25,300 for UTME students and ₦30,300 for Direct Entry (DE) students, up from the previous rate of ₦20,300.

This announcement follows the release of the first batch of admission lists. While acknowledging the concerns this may raise for new students and their families, the SUG has assured the student body that it is actively negotiating with the university management in hopes of returning the fee to its previous amount.

“The Students’ Union Government remains committed to protecting the interests of all students,” stated Comrade Mohammed. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we continue discussions with the university administration on this issue.”

The union’s Public Relations Officer, Comrade Muh’d Bello Muh’d, added that further updates will be communicated to students promptly.
