The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced that it has fully paid allowances to all 72,138 examiners it engaged as ad-hoc staff for the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
In response to recent speculations claiming the Council deliberately withheld examiners' payments, NECO clarified that it encountered some delays due to incorrect bank details submitted by certain examiners, which temporarily affected the payment process.
In a statement released by the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Azeez Sani, “NECO has completed payment of examiners' allowances as of today, Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in accordance with the Council's payment plan,”
