The University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), has warned students who are in the habit of throwing themselves at lecturers for the purpose of exchanging sex for grades to desist from the act or be punished.

The university's vice-chancellor Charles Igwe, gave the warning in Nsukka on Wednesday, April 26, at the university’s first ‘International Conference on Gender and S3Xual Harassment’, organized by the Campus-Campaign Against Sexual Harassment (C-CASH).

He warned students against deliberately seducing lecturers or offering sex in exchange for marks as the university will not hesitate to punish any student found guilty

The VC described sexual harassment as a cankerworm that everyone must join hands to eliminate, and averred that the university would not relent in maintaining gender equality and a safe learning environment devoid of sexual harassment of any kind.
